These ships travel between ports on the Baja California peninsula and mainland Mexico. Built in Europe, they are fast, comfortable and equipped with a cafeteria and bar. There are three routes from the Baja Peninsula to western Mexico. From north to south: Santa Rosalia to Guaymas, La Paz to Topolobampo and La Paz to Mazatlán.

Baja ferries can carry just about any vehicle, including semi trucks and passenger buses. The fare is based on length, though extra-large vehicles may also be charged for height and weight. Motorcycles pay a flat fee.

Advance reservations are desirable but not required unless you’ll be traveling during peak holiday traffic at Christmas and Easter. Reservations are a must, however, if you require a bed or cabin rather than a reclining seat in the salon.
