I’m a sucker for the color palette in this era of postcards. Here we see Guanajuato’s iconic Teatro Juarez, replete with 1950s tourists. The theater was completed in 1903, during the Porfiriato.

’58 Chevrolet BelAir, a Hillman Minx (?) and a ’62 Kharmann Ghia
This artifacts the date of the image.
The heavy collegiate population of Guanajuato keeps that lovely colonial city humming. Just sitting in Jardin Union and sipping an espresso revitalizes the spirit. I gotta get back there some day.
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Ha! I thought that might be a ’62 Kharmann Ghia, and almost changed the text to read “1960s tourists.” Guess my instinct was right anyway!
