    Good interview, Carlos. I daresay smoooth.
    We bought your book virtually the first day it came out–197whatever. Still using it (a later edition though).
    It has changed over the years too, though in more subtle ways than the country has. Be back down next month. Maybe see youall there.

    Thanks, Hal, it is always a treat to hear from our original readers and supporters. If the interview sounded smooth it might have something to do with the fact that Lorena and I wrote the questions. I doubt that the interviewer actually read the book beforehand, which unfortunately is “par for the course”. As you may have guessed, I’m not a great fan of interviews, though we do occasionally experience a good one. Rick Steves and Pacifica Radio would be at the top of the list, as in both cases the interview was more of a genuine conversation about Mexico rather than a pre-planned question/answer routine.
